He was particularly annoyed about this, It just wasn’t bad enough that the machines looked like moving Deathtraps, the horrible Ilorin roads weren’t helping matters at all, potholes and all.
He was unusually irritable, like it wasn’t bad enough that He might be out of a job now His company was downsizing, now His car just decided to break down. *Like He didn’t have enough to worry about?*
He takes a sharp bend into his street and immediately *Crash!!!* He bumps into her. A few seconds of awkward silence and rushed apologies later, he leans forward and helps her unto her feet.
Sorry I was in a hurry, I didn’t see you there, come to think of it, I haven’t seen you in a while, how’ve you been? She replies: “Yeah, I’ve been really busy, you know: balancing school and work, anyway I’m fine and you?
I’m fine, been quite busy as well, you know how it is with these cooperate jobs. Work, work work, that’s all we ever do. Anyway I really have to be going, it was nice talking to you. Trust all is well with you, talk to you some other time.
However all wasn’t well & her face wasn’t doing a very good job of hiding it, she put on a smile still he sensed that something was wrong, but he pressed no further. What did it matter to him anyway,
It wasn’t really any of his business, besides she said she was fine. He had his own problems to deal with, he didn’t have time to be drinking Panadol for her own headache, with that he trudged into the street embracing the sights and sounds of dusk.
To be continued…
Disclaimer: The events and characters depicted in this story and in its future installments are fictitious. Any similarities to actual persons, living or dead is purely coincidental… *Yeah, So I was inspired to write a short story that didn’t turn out so short after all, so I guess it’s going to be my first series of short stories, so bear with me & anticipate the weekly sequels. Thank You :)*
