Remind us

Many times in life, because we cannot see, because we are mortals, because our spirits are still confined inside our skins, because we will not know…..we make scary mistakes, we commit terrible errors, we are so quick to pass unfair judgments, we find pleasure in drawing wicked conclusions….but it’s okay…at least, we cant help it?…….but there seems to be a solution when we tell it to the Immortal one, the one that knows it all, He can remind us…….Just learn to say

Heavenly Father help us remember that the jerk who cut us off in traffic last night is a single mother who worked ten hours a day and is rushing home to cook dinner, help with homework, do the laundry and spend a few precious moments with her children.

Father, please crest it on our hearts that, that shaky graduate that could not even hold the toy pistol to our heads correctly when plundering away our money is a young man trying to pay up the operation bill of his dying mother, the only person he has left, after working day and night cutting and selling woods. The government prefers giving their 3rd class children jobs than a first class certificate of his.

Remind us, Lord, that the scary looking bum, begging for money in the same spot everyday, who really ought to get a job, is a slave to an addiction that we can only imagine in our worst nightmares.

Dear Father, help us not to forget that the pastor that we caught in the wrong act, cursing, is not meant to be condemned and ridiculed, he is mortal, he is meant to be prayed for.

Help us to remember that the old couples walking annoyingly slow through the store aisles and blocking our shopping progress are savoring this moment, knowing that, based on the biopsy report she got last week, this will be the last year they go shopping together.

Almighty, do not fail to make it known to us that, the lady we think is so proud is torn between obeying the sweet caring words of her parents, that eats once daily, pays tremendously for the other siblings, work till their backs crack, only to come and sleep in darkness because they wont pay the bills just to satisfy her. She is torn between this and avoiding bad clique.

Remind us oh Lord that the lecturer that fails us anyhow, is a disturbed man. His wife just divorced him and his children are scattered on the streets, busy painting them black.

We must not forget, Christ that the guy who blew the thick smoke of cigarette into our fresh faces, mocked and ridiculed us is a man whose eyes has veils covering them. He is not aware you died for him.

Help us to remember that the pierced, tattooed disintegrated young man who cant make changes correctly is a worried 19-yr old college student balancing his apprehension over final exams with the fear of not getting his school fees for next semester.

Immortal, Invincible, remind us that the student that seems irresponsible and rude, jumping…. no, flying from one bed to another’s loins is a girl whose heart has being broken by many men, by many boyfriends she should have never had. Now she thinks nobody could mend her crumbled heart again.

Heavenly Father, remind us each day that of all the gifts you give us, the greatest is love, it is not enough to share that love with those we hold dear. Open our hearts not to just those who are close to us, but to all humanity. Let us be slow to judge and quick to forgive, show patience, empathy and love.
